Our Firm

Originally founded in the mid 1960s by Leonard C. Jaques (1927-1998) to serve the needs of the seamen of the maritime industry, the Firm now boasts a legal team dedicated to protecting the rights of injury victims in an array of practice areas.

We are known foremost for our successful prosecution of Maritime lawsuits, particularly claims focusing on the hazards of the maritime industry. Many clients seek our counsel because they suffer from respiratory ailments caused by exposure to airborne asbestos fibers used aboard ships. Often, exposure to asbestos occurred decades ago.

Clients rely on our expertise in this area, which includes a thorough investigation and review of their medical documents by our attorneys and a team of experts. We confirm exposure, identify responsible products, and vigorously pursue defendants.

Likewise, clients who come to us with other types of personal injuries receive individual attention to their claim and can trust the knowledge and experience of our attorneys. In addition to admiralty law, our firm has a growing general litigation practice that encompasses product liability, worker compensation and wrongful death.

When settlement has been in our clients’ best interest, our Firm has settled cases on their behalf. However, we stand ready to prevail by taking a case to trial. In fact, our trial experience is extensive and has resulted in landmark judgments.

All of our personal injury and maritime clients receive a free initial consultation, and they pay no fees until our Firm recovers on the claim.

The committed attorneys at Jaques Admiralty Law Firm stand ready to assist you.
